Oxen

The lowly oxen did their share of the work on early farms

oxen.jpg

Not only did oxen do their share of the work on early pioneer farms but they were often preferred over horses for wagon trains because their hooves held up better on long journeys.

Note that these oxen are not harnessed with the traditional yoke but rather they are harnessed in regular leather and metal harnesses normally used on horses.
