Pictures of working derricks

Derricks in use

hayderrickgeorgewilliam.jpg

This picture of a working derrick was taken on the George William Morgan ranch near Salmon, Idaho. George William's son Leon is on top of the haystack and George William is on the haywagon. George William's daughter Wilma is standing against the fence farthest right. Notice that a truck is attached to the cable and is being used to lift the Jackson fork loaded with hay. This was accomplished by backing the truck away from the derrick.
