Seed House

Where pea seed was cleaned by hand

seedhouseidahofalls.jpg

The "Seed House" was in or near Idaho Falls, Idaho. Many women and some of the men who lived in the Rigby, Ririe and Shelton area worked for years cleaning seeds in the seed house. The women picked poor quality peas and trash out of the peas as they passed by on a conveyer belt.

Two of our Morgan family worked at this seed house and are in the picture above. They are Earl Morgan (1900-1971) standing far right on the back row. And Albert Morgan (1904-1960) standing second from right on the back row. Earl and Albert were the sons of Edward Thomas and Violet Merab Richardson Morgan. Edward Thomas Morgan (1869-1952) was a son of Edward (Ted) and Sarah West Morgan. Edward (Ted) Morgan was the oldest son of Thomas and Ann Watkins Morgan.
